Appearance
A compact, columnar succulent with thick, ribbed stems that resemble an ear of corn.
Stems are pale green with creamy white variegation and dotted with small, reddish-brown spines.
Can grow up to 12 inches (30 cm) tall and slowly forms clumping clusters.
Care & Growing Conditions
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to full sun; too much direct sun can scorch the variegated areas.
Soil: Well-draining, sandy, or cactus mix soil.
Watering: Water sparingly; allow soil to dry completely between waterings.
Temperature: Thrives in USDA zones 10-11; sensitive to frost and should be kept above 40°F (4°C).
Humidity: Prefers dry conditions and does not tolerate excess moisture.
Flower
Produces small, yellow-green flowers at the tips of the stems in late spring to summer.
Blooms are relatively inconspicuous compared to the striking stem structure.
